🦋 Personality

1. Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?


Vex grew up in a world full of magic, so in an essence she's always known it has existed. Magic comes from both the natural world and the arcane, and she knows that price that some people pay for it. She's heard of what can happen if people proverbially fly too close to the sun - the story of the Age of Arcanum and the Calamity in her world - and she knows that magic can be used for good and bad. She, also, uses magic occasionally. Hers, being a Ranger, is nature based much like a Druid's is. But she knows Wizards and Clerics, whose magics have been used to tear the world asunder and bring back the dead. To not believe in it is almost calling the world flat. Magic is... magic feels normal to her.


2. What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being? Feel free to use our Bestiary for reference.


Funny enough, Vex is already partly a creature. She is half-elf; human on her mother's side and elf on her father's. She both identifies and dreads being an elf. On one hand, it's all Vex has known: the half-elven kids running around their small town wishing of a world bigger than what they already had. When they went to live with their father, they became those dreaded half-breeds. Even her father thought they'd be worth more in the world with his blood in their veins. They belong to both world and neither world, and yet she wouldn't want to be any other way.


3. If your character could ask for one wish, and it's going to be magically granted without any consequence, what will it be and why?


To have her brother not sacrifice himself for her. They would have found another way to bring her back after she had died, but that one course of action changed all of their lives, and she's not sure if it was for the better or not. He should have had time to grow old with the one he loved, just like shhe'll be able to do, but instead, he made the decision to switch his soul for hers and became indebted to the Matron of Ravens. It's the one thing she'll always regret.



4. If there's one person your character would follow to another realm, who would it be and why? If there's no one, state that and explain why.


This is simple. For her, it would be her husband, Percival. All of her life, she's been told she isn't worthy of love, that she's cursed and will curse those around her. Percy fell in love with her (and she him) and they vowed to fix each other and be each other's broken pieces. He gave her a home and a title and a place to belong and she became his heart and his judgement. She replaced the family he lost. Together, they vowed to make their lives better.
